Financial Controller Analyst

Management Accounts & Analysis:

Review monthly management accounts for European entities, ensuring accuracy of technical provisions and reasonableness of non-technical postings.

Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis, providing timely insight to senior management.

Ensure data accuracy within the underwriting and claims systems to support reliable financial reporting.
Forecasting & Planning:

Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across European entities.

Produce monthly cash flow analyses and forward-looking forecasts.

Provide financial modelling and scenario planning to support management decision-making.
Performance Insight & MI:

Develop and deliver insightful MI reports to enhance understanding of business performance.

Conduct premium, commission and reserve reviews, identifying key movements and recommending adjustments as needed.

Partner with actuarial, claims and underwriting functions to provide financial insight that supports reserving and performance management.
Performance Insight & MI:

Continuously improve FP&A processes, reporting and analysis through automation, systems enhancements and new MI development.

Support evaluation of new system integrations relevant to planning and analysis.
Performance Insight & MI:

Work closely with the Financial Controller, Reporting, to ensure consistency between management reporting, statutory submissions and audit deliverables.

Prepare inputs for Group deliverables, ensuring accuracy and alignment with local management reporting.
Performance Insight & MI:

Lead, coach and mentor the Finance team across European entities, supporting their development and ensuring performance standards are met.

Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement within the Finance team.
- Support succession planning and capability development in the FP&A / MI function
Performance Insight & MI:
- As a minimum, part ACCA qualified.
- Finance experience in the Insurance industry (2-5 years)
- Strong analytical skills
- Teamwork demonstrated, along with working on own
- Proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions to colleagues at all levels, including senior management
- Used to meet demanding deadlines
- Excellent and inclusive communication skills with colleagues at all levels
- An inquisitive mind
- Advanced Excel skills
