Role Summary:

Respond to customer/broker enquiries and advise on all motor products and services; underwrite quotes, amendments and issue policies and renewals in accordance with current underwriting guidelines. Deliver a high level of customer service and cross sell products where appropriate

Role Responsibilities:

  • Answering telephone calls at all times

  • Prepare quotes and issue new policies and renewals within established limits and according to      documented procedures.

  • Input data into the underwriting software system.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by senior management or the Core team.

  • Deliver a high level of customer service to brokers/intermediaries during face-to-face contact, by telephone and by email.

  • Liaise with brokers/intermediaries, claims unit and/or underwriting regarding clients’ claims or clients’ insurance needs.

  • Liaise with, assist Finance Department with brokers/intermediaries queries.

  • Chase brokers/intermediaries for renewals and make appropriate notes on the underwriting system.

  • Ensure that all the necessary renewal documentation and renewals are issued to brokers/intermediaries within the required timeframes.

  • Follow up of with brokers/intermediaries renewals to ensure instructions are received prior to expiry date.

  • Assist with credit control as required.

  • Individual performance objectives will be set on an annual basis.

Skills, Experience & Attributes:

  • Minimum of post-secondary level of education or higher

  • At least 2 years of experience as a motor insurance underwriter

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Preferably Maltese speaking

  • Proficient in English (communication & written)

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and basic IT use
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team to reach individual and departmental goals.
